During the last quarter of 2018, we decided to expand our
reach to more groups within the society, most especially, the disable people
and girls.
In October, 2018, our partnership with the Association of Professional Counsellors in
Nigeria (APROCON) (Offa branch) in celebrating the 2018
International Girl Child Day, focused on the theme, “With Her: A skilled Girl
force”. To achieve our aim of guiding the girls towards becoming skilled
workforce, Coinkwara organized women professionals and entrepreneurs to educate
and motivate the girls so that they do not end up their future in the kitchen. The programme which hosted
more than 100 participants, majorly secondary school girls from 10 schools
witnessed presentation of certificates by the Coinkwara Programme Director, Mr
Hanafi Olanrewaju Rabiu and ended with the vote of thanks which was delivered
by Coin Consults’ HCD Director, Mr. Amura Olaitan Gafar.

In November, 2018, Coinkwara joined other organizations and
entrepreneurs in holding series of events to celebrate the 2018 Global
Entrepreneurship Week in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The week began with
entrepreneurship training programme and meet up. The other days featured
fitness exercise, city tour and visit to the Kwara State Government House.
The week opened up more opportunities for entrepreneurs to
network and learn from each other. Through the street walk and the visit to the
government house, awareness was raised on the plight of entrepreneurs within
the state. It was an eventful week for entrepreneurs.

As able bodied men and women continue to lead in
entrepreneurship development, there was the need to channel some resources
towards aiding the cause of disabled members of the society in
entrepreneurship. These set of people are disadvantaged in joining the
entrepreneurship race, more so during this time when the Nigerian economy is
very hard.
To support the disable people, the Coinkwara Programme
Director, Mr. Hanafi Olanrewaju Rabiu lifted the spirit of the disabled people
through his presentation “you are
unstoppable despite your disability” at The Disable Fiesta and Second
Annual Lecture which held on 15th December, 2018. He also gave free
business consultancy services to the disable people.
Great Post. Thanks for sharing.
