COINKWARA ENTREPRENEUR OF THE MONTH_OCTOBER One of the cardinal developmental parts of the CoinKwara Programme is to pick our ‘Entrepreneur of the Month’ and hold an exclusive interview with him or her. This interview gives opportunity to the particular entrepreneur being chosen to evaluate him or herself and assess the growth of his/her enterprise. We also believe that this kind of interview will educate and motivate fellow entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs and the general public. For the month of October, our Entrepreneur of the Month is Mr. Yusuf Shehu.  Shehu and his partners manually manufacture textile material called “Aso-Ofi” or “Aso-Oke” in Yoruba language. His office is located at: No 124, Itakudimoh, Pakata Road, Ilorin, Kwara State. S.O. Yusuf can be contacted on 08180003474, 08080003474 or you can visit his webpage,  Shehu Alaso Oke PERSONAL BACKGROUND My name is Shehu Olatunji Yusuf and I hail from Ilorin, Kwara State. BANK COULD KILL YOUR ENTERPRISE, BEWARE! Almost everyone are aware of different frauds that occur in Nigeria and banks especially. Before coming across this sorry but real story, I know at least three (3) different people who have been duped by banks. Everyone shouts Yahoo Yahoo, but the truth about this pathetic story including the ones I had known before is that the fraudsters are the Bank Staff themselves. I would have named the banks involved in these transactions but today's story is not mine and would prefer the story to be told by one person for all entrepreneurs to learn from. Permit me to present to you, Idongesit Umoh (an Entrepreneur ). ............................................................................................................ I have been deliberating over the last few months if i should post this or not as it relates to my business. I didn’t want a case where when #IdongHarrie is searched on the internet and part of what comes up is info

ENTREPRENEURS WITHOUT ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS As an entrepreneur or an aspiring entrepreneur, you have to know that what you need to achieve your dream is more than capital and a vocational skill. This is not to say that these resources are not important, in fact your ambition to become an entrepreneur begins from sourcing for the required capital and learning about what you want to work on. Many people in this part of the world however, overemphasized these two things. For instance, less than 5% of entrepreneurs with vocational skills like fashion designing, furniture works, farming, school, etc attend schools, training or seminar to acquire skills such as management, leadership, customer relations, etc The effect of lack of these skills are many. Some of these will be mentioned here: 1. These entrepreneurs make some money when they are young and as they get older, the money they make becomes inadequate to sustain the business and their family. 2. These entrepreneurs m

THE LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER FEATURED COINKWARA ENTREPRENEUR OF THE MONTH, ASMAU (CEO OF AYAT PONMO) Recall that Hanafi Asmau Temim was once chosen as our Entrepreneur of the month. Her courage, innovation and desire to improve her entrepreneurial skills caught the eyes of the Coinkwara team and she was then chosen as our Entrepreneur of the month of June, 2017. She has participated in all our programmes starting from having her page on our website ( www.coinkwara.com ) to attending our Business Strategy Sessions and partaking in the Coinkwara Market Hub for local products and services. Like others, she testified gaining a lot from the Coinkwara Entrepreneurship Community during our last interview with her. Coinkwara programme is a nice programme that promotes both old and new entrepreneurs. At least I attended the two previous BSS (Business Strategy Session) and I learnt a lot from the programme. It’s a nice programme. You guys should keep it up_ Hanafi Asmau Temim About four

KWARA STATE TO MAKE EVERY YOUTH EMPLOYABLE

Virtually everyone accepts that getting a good job in Nigeria is being determined by 'who you know', however, it is not always the case. You might actually get a good job without having a godfather but you must develop your 'God Given Skills'. There are certain things you can do to become great but that journey starts now. I will give you two options: (1) Become an entrepreneur and or (2) Attend Training and seminars to develop your skills. It makes no sense when youth shout, "we need employment" but yet they are unemployable! If I say unemployable, do you know what I mean? If you don't, then tell me what your response would be if you attend a job interview and you were asked, "What value can you add to this organisation?"(Answer this question by dropping your comment here). If this question will make you sweat, then beware! Well, lucky for you, the Kwara State Youth Empowerment Programme is organizing a two-day Training Programme to increa
